THE MATERIAL
The central town square of Podgorica, Montenegro is appropriately named Independence Square and is covered in TAB’s Indian red sandstone.
THE HISTORY
In 2006, with a narrow referendum result of 55.5%, Montenegro gained its independence from Serbia. Then, the Independence Square was rebuilt.
THE WORK
Underwent a huge reconstruction that included the construction of the central fountain, transformation into a car-free zone complete with palm trees, benches, and waterways, creating a liberating atmosphere in the socio-cultural heart of the city.
