The Concept
The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art is a relatively small, but complex and beautiful recent construction in St. Petersburg, FL. Built to conjure the magnificence and particular beauty of the southwestern United States, the clients and their design team set off on a mission to find the perfect material to capture the essence of the American desert.
THE MATERIAL
It was an arduous hunt to locate a material with the correct striations that evoke the canyons and ravines of Nevada, Arizona, and Utah but in the end, the pursuit paid off. Teakwood sandstone was selected to complete the exterior “Mesa” facade and the interior “Arroyo” gallery and event space of the museum.
PROUD OF OUR WORK
We were happy to quarry and fabricate this relatively small, but complex job and it is another feather in our cap as the leading company of cut-to-size stone projects from India.
